Q: Does WinShape offer Pastor and Missionary get-aways?
A. Our heart is to minister, and we recognize the need for fellow ministers to rest. We provide Refresh and Renew for pastors and their spouse.  For reservations, call 877-977-3873 (toll free).

Q: What amenities are provided in each WinShape Retreat room?
A.
Each beautiful room has one king size bed with triple sheeting and three comfortable polyester pillows and a private bathroom with shower and dual sink vanity. All linens are provided and each room is equipped with an alarm clock with CD player, hair dryer, facial and bath soap, body lotion, shampoo, bottled water, iron and ironing board, and a Bible.  You will not find a TV, telephone or Internet connections in a WinShape room. In keeping with our retreat atmosphere, WinShape maintains a “media-free” environment. Also, please note that although smoking is not permitted in any of our buildings or public areas, a designated smoking area is available by asking WinShape Retreat staff.  Alcohol is not permitted on the premises.

Q. Are cell phones allowed on the grounds of WinShape Retreat?
A.
Yes. If we knew how to prevent it, we probably would. In the meantime, please respect the experience of other guests by limiting cell phone use as much as possible, and keep ringers turned off in public areas.

Q. Is there Internet access on the grounds of WinShape Retreat? 
A.
WinShape maintains a “media-free” environment to facilitate the retreat experience.  Internet access may be provided in our Conference Hall to individuals or groups when a group leader has made a prior arrangement..

Q. What kinds of groups can come to WinShape Retreat?  Can our company host a corporate function or can our small group or Sunday school class use the facility? 
A.
Yes, WinShape Retreat is open to all groups but we do have a process in place to review each request.  Each group request is submitted to our review board to determine if the program content is consistent with WinShape’s philosophies and values. While our primary mission is for our marriage ministry, we invite all types of groups to consider joining us for a retreat, including ministry groups and corporate groups. 

Q. Are children allowed at WinShape Retreat? 
A.
We believe our retreat environment is best suited for adults.  Therefore, no infants or children under the age of 18 are permitted at WinShape Retreat.

Q. Can we get married and host our reception at WinShape Retreat?
A.
WinShape Retreat is not intended for weddings or receptions.  However, to prepare you and your spouse for a healthy and happy marriage, we encourage you to visit our Marriage Programming section.  There, you can enroll in Prepare to Last, which is a program designed for couples that are seriously dating or contemplating marriage.

Q. Can I set up an appointment to tour the WinShape Retreat grounds?
A.
Yes. WinShape Retreat tours are by appointment only and take place at 10:00 am and at 2:00 pm Monday through Friday (except during summer months). Please call 877-977-3873 (toll free) or send us an email at info@winshape.org to arrange for a tour.

Q. Is WinShape Retreat or WinShape Marriage open when WinShape Camps are in session? 
A.
WinShape Camps uses the retreat facilities from mid-May to mid-August. During that time WinShape Retreat’s accommodations are limited to The Normandy Inn where WinShape Marriage Signature retreats take place as scheduled. WinShape Marriage intensives and other group events are scheduled at The Normandy Inn while camp is in session. The Normandy Inn has fourteen rooms to accommodate guests.

Q. Can we purchase meals?
A.
Meals are provided for groups and individuals as part of the total retreat package, and are priced to reflect the type of food served and the number of people dining.  Our dining facility does not operate like a restaurant. We prepare ahead of time for reservations.

Q. Can we bring a day group and eat meals without spending the night? 
A.
Yes, we welcome groups of any size that come for just the day.  Meeting space and meals can be reserved in advance by making an Information Request or calling 877-977-3873 (toll free).

Q. What should I pack for my WinShape Retreat?
A.
We recommend casual and comfortable attire. Be sure to pack comfortable walking shoes so you can take full advantage of our 40 acres of unspoiled mountain wilderness. In cool months, it is best to dress in layers. Bring closed toe shoes if you plan to participate in experiential learning.

Q. What credit cards are accepted?
A.
We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover.

Q. Is a deposit required?
A.

 For a group reservation, 35% of the total anticipated charges are due in advance of the event. For individual reservations, a credit card number is required, and full payment at the time of reservation.

Q. Are there accessible rooms or elevators?
A.
Accessible rooms are located on the first floor, but stairs are needed to reach second floor rooms; there are no elevators.

Q. Is there any special equipment needed for the experiential learning?
A.
No. All special equipment will be provided by WinShape. Be sure to bring comfortable shoes (closed toe) and clothing suitable for moderate physical activity.

Q. What specific physical limitations would prevent someone from considering the experiential learning?
A.
If you can walk, you can participate in at least the initial activities of the experiential learning. (Many pregnant women are able to do so.) You are never forced to go beyond your own abilities, and every achievement is celebrated as a victory.
