In 1984, S. Truett Cathy, Founder of Chick-fil-A, began the WinShape Foundation. The college program provided the first branch. After closing the doors of the boys' boarding school, then president, Gloria Shatto, asked Truett Cathy if Chick-fil-A could use the buildings The WinShape College Program was proposed, initially providing a scholarship of $10,000. The original basis of the funds relied on academic achievement, leadership potential, community service, moral lifestyle and spiritual growth. Though the founding tenants haven't changed, today the WCP helps to provide scholarships of up to $32,000 toward eight semesters of tuition for eligible students to attend Berry College in Rome, Georgia; and it boasts of over 800 participants! The commitment remains to equip college students to impact the world for Jesus Christ by following Him and living out His unique calling for their lives.
